Designed for first timers without any previous experience as well as intermediate youth fencers! We teach skills of the Olympic sport of fencing. Attendees will have fun learning the history of the sport, the various weapon styles, and of course...fence with swords!! Fencing is one of the safest sports and students also learn teamwork and leadership skills. All equipment is provided for the duration of the session, and each camper will make a craft to take home. Distance: 32.5mi // Climb: 2,250’. Meet up at the Historic Arcade & Attica Depot in downtown Arcade, where you’ll be able to load your bike directly onto the train for a scenic ride down the A&A line. We’ll stop at Curriers’ train station for about an hour – so pack a hearty lunch and your favorite camp stove to brew up some coffee and a treat. Small snacks and a bathroom will be available in the station. From Curriers’, we’ll ride the train to North Java, where we’ll unload our bicycles at the end of the line. Then begins our scenic ride through the small historic hamlets and incredible creek gorges leading us back to Arcade. If you’d like to skip the bike ride, tickets are available for people just riding the train back for 25$.
